Cosmos Educational Press Ltd. publishes and distributes textbooks throughout Cameroon, and specialises in English and French language courses.
Who we are
Cosmos Educational Press Ltd., (CEPL) is a pioneer indigenous educational publishing house headquartered in Limbe, Cameroon with its operational headquarters in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
We specialise in the publication of educational materials for both the Anglophone and Francophone sub-systems of education in Cameroon (from the nursery, primary, and secondary levels) in the following subject areas:
Our goal is to spread education to all learners to change minds, combat illiteracy and contribute to national education development.
Our main line of activity is publishing educational textbooks for primary and secondary school learners in print and digital forms.
History

development
Cosmos Ltd. was created and launched by Apostle Bill Forcha in 1982. As Cosmos Ltd., its first publication was entitled Economics in Diagrams. Then in 2005, following the inception of Cosmos in 1982, the name Cosmos Educational Press Ltd. (CEPL) was founded. Later on, Cosmos published the following titles: Basic English for Cameroon and Cosmos Primary Mathematics. These publications were ground-breaking and lifted Cosmos to the realm of one of the renowned indigenous publishing houses in Cameroon. As a recent development, Cosmos has launched a digital online platform, Cosmos Learning to provide educational materials online that can be accessed through the use of smartphones and computers.
The course book series, Basic English is in use in 81% of private schools, while Cosmos Primary Mathematics is present in 72% of primary schools.
Achievements
Cosmos has recorded resounding achievements in the production of school textbooks in Cameroon and abroad. Within the country, Cosmos is famous for being one of the indigenous publishers, existing for over four decades, since 1982. We have published over two hundred titles in the aforementioned subject areas.
We have published textbooks on climate change to raise students’
awareness of climate change and global warming. The textbooks were published
successively in partnership with the British High Commission, Yaoundé from 2009 to 2011.
In 2009, we published Learn English; Understand Climate Change. From 2010-2011, we published Climate Change Education.
We have been leaders in inclusive education, especially in supporting the needy with school textbooks and other learning materials. We launched the corporate social responsibility agenda in Cosmos before 2018. This programme targets about 15000 pupils of both the Anglophone (Classes 1-6) and Francophone (SILCM2)
sub-systems of education.
Cosmos has been encouraging learning among pupils and students by organising quiz competitions for learners of the basic and secondary levels of education, in which we donate cash prizes and didactic materials to meritorious learners.
To contribute to digitalisation in education and continue spreading education, we
have launched an e-learning platform, Cosmos Learning that allows learners
from across the country, as our primary target, to access the platform online and
learn using smartphones or computers.
We partner with local and internal organisations, consultants, and other
publishers to strengthen and empower our team to produce quality international repute textbooks. Most importantly, our local youth corner partners assist us in
our corporate social responsibility programme.
As a publishing house specialised in the publication of school textbooks of international standards, we have published school textbooks that have been
approved and used in other countries. For example, the following titles of
Cosmos has been used in Ghanaian schools.
